Ooredoo has today announced a major enhancement to its Data Centre portfolio, as part of the company’s push to become the leading ICT provider in Qatar.

Ooredoo Data Centres already offer a host of core business services such as the ability for business customers to rent data centre space, host applications and services, as well as store data and backup critical information. With the new enhancements, Ooredoo is drastically modernising its services and increasing its portfolio flexibility by offering multiple package options to its business customers. The company is also boosting its support and monitoring capabilities in Qatar by introducing a new ‘Managed Services’ portfolio.

Yousuf Al Kubaisi, COO of Ooredoo Qatar, said: “This enriched service portfolio announcement  is on the back of the most successful year ever for Ooredoo Data Centres, and will enable us to further support all customer requests, basic or complex. This year we’ve rolled-out a host of new business solutions, to make sure every business in Qatar can fulfil its required ICT needs, drive efficiencies and enable business agility.” The new Data Centre services include the ‘Ooredoo Colocation Service’, to help customers safeguard servers, applications and data with the highest levels of security, infrastructure availability, redundancy and disaster recovery options. A new range of ‘Managed Services’ is also now available, which can manage, maintain and monitor all hosted customer infrastructure, business services, and applications.

The service will require minimal investment and solutions range from highly available storage for production databases, to low-cost storage for web content, files, images and other shared or archived data. Ooredoo’s Managed Backup Service can be deployed in tandem with the Managed Storage Service to provide immediate data protection and archiving.

Ooredoo’s Data Centre enhancement is the latest milestone for the facilities in 2016, previous highlights include the only triple-certification in Qatar of three prestigious ISO Management Systems: Information Security (ISMS – ISO27001), Service Management System (SMS – ISO20000) and Business Continuity Management (BCMS – ISO22301). For businesses looking for a one-stop ICT shop, Ooredoo provides a full solution from best in class connectivity, to enterprise grade Data Centre Managed Services. As part of its commitment to the Qatar National Vision 2030, Ooredoo will continue to invest in its national network of Data Centres, to provide an important foundation for innovation and development.
