Ooredoo today announced its Mobile Money Payroll Service has introduced a new feature for requesting an Ooredoo Mobile Money card PIN.
With over 5,000 new employees enrolling for Ooredoo Mobile Money Payroll every month, the service is fast becoming one of the most popular digital methods for employers and businesses to pay their employees’ salaries. Currently, employees have to sign-up to Ooredoo Mobile Money to begin receiving their wages, and the registration process includes receiving a prepaid payroll card and PIN number separately. To ensure a more convenient customer experience, employees will now request their payroll card PIN via SMS, saving time and giving card holders piece of mind.
Once they receive their card, employees can simply SMS ‘P’ from their registered mobile number to 92107, to instantly receive an SMS with a temporary PIN. The Card PIN can then be changed at any QNB ATM. PIN by SMS requests can also be selected from “Card Services” within Ooredoo’s USSD menu or the Ooredoo Money smartphone app. The smart salary payment method, which is compatible with Qatar’s Wage Protection System, enables employers to pay their staff directly into their mobile phones mWallet via Ooredoo Mobile Money, saving businesses on banking processing fees, reducing accounting and administration costs and improving business efficiencies.
For employees, the system offers simple and understandable access to financial services such as local and international transfers for users unable to access a local bank account, as well as a secure and convenient alternative to carrying cash and access to a mobile account and prepaid payroll card that can be used at Point of Sales (POS) and ATMs across Qatar. The Ooredoo Mobile Money Payroll service was launched in partnership with QNB (Qatar National Bank), and is the region’s first payroll service via mobile.
New customers can register for free for Mobile Money by simply visiting any Ooredoo Shop, dialling *140# or downloading the free Ooredoo Money smartphone App. Once registered, customers can begin to deposit money into their Mobile Wallet via over 200+ Ooredoo’s Self Service Machines or through any Ooredoo Shop.
