Ooredoo has provided support for the Sri Lankan community this weekend at the 68th Sri Lankan Independence Day celebrations held on Friday 5 February at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Doha.

The partnership, which is part of the company’s vision to support every section of the community, saw Ooredoo host a booth at the event to promote its lowest rates for costumers to contact and send money back to their loved ones in Sri Lanka. The 68th Sri Lankan Independence Day event featured a cultural programme of activities, including a performance by the renowned dance ensemble The Sparrows Dance Troupe, Sri Lankan actress Sheril Romen Dekker, and performer Ruwan Hettiarachchi.

Ooredoo’s support for the event aimed to enhance the unity and integrity of the diverse communities of Sri Lanka living in Qatar. Fatima Sultan Al Kuwari, Director Community & Public Relations, Ooredoo, said: “Joining with the this event was a great way to show that we are all part of Qatar’s communities, and give everyone the opportunity to experience Sri Lanka’s strong traditions.
