The Sheikh Faisal Center for Entrepreneurship in the Middle East, has once again hosted a group of students from DePaul University in Chicago visiting Qatar for the past week as part of the entrepreneurship and business development program offered by The Sheikh Faisal Center for Entrepreneurship in the Middle East. DePaul University is one of the leading educational institutions in the world and is known for its program in entrepreneurship studies, which was ranked No.12 in the United States by the Princeton Review for the year 2016.

As part of this initiative, MBA students working professionally from Chicago visited Qatar to get an idea of the nature of how entrepreneurship functions in the region. It provides students with real international business experience, exposing them to Qatar’s diverse economy, and allowing them to get acquainted with different cultures and mentalities. The students visited many organizations in Doha to learn about the business world in Qatar, including Ooredoo, and Al Jazeera Network, the Supreme Council for Education, the Qatar Stock Exchange, Qatar Science and Technology Park, Qatar Shell, Aspire Zone and Qatar Business Incubation Center among many others.

Dr. Mandy Terc, Director of The Sheikh Faisal Center for Entrepreneurship in the Middle East, DePaul University, said during her visit: “It is great to have such prestigious organizations cooperate with us. The main goal of this initiative is to reinforce Qatar’s entrepreneurial aptitude and to build a relationship between entrepreneurs from Chicago with those in Qatar to encourage the exchange of knowledge and expertise. The students noticed that there is emphasis on promoting new and diversified entrepreneurial businesses. They were awestruck by the ambitions the country has and the development it has achieved in such a short period of time. The diversity of the businesses and the opportunities they create, feeds into the unified vision of Qatar.”

Through knowledge transfer and cultural exchange, students will become more open minded and prepared for innovation and success. The students of today will become the leaders of tomorrow.
