Ooredoo and Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) have officially announced the third Ooredoo Temba Football Tournament, to be held between March 20-28 on Aspire Zone’s state-of-the-art five-a-side football pitches, opposite Al-Waab street.
The Temba football tournament which is exclusively sponsored by Ooredoo, is scheduled to feature 32 teams that will then be divided into two categories, football enthusiasts and corporate employees. Each team will comprise of one goalkeeper and four players. Participants will compete for a chance to win prizes and be named this year’s champions. The last two editions saw was a huge success, with more than 160 football enthusiasts in Qatar enjoying the fun and competitive atmosphere.
Commenting on organising the event for the third time in partnership with Ooredoo, Mr. Nawaf Al-Ajwan, a member of the organising committee, said; “We expanded this year’s tournament by adding the corporate category due to the huge turnout and interest we have received from football enthusiasts during previous editions. The tournament tests talent and speed which stems from our unified vision in promoting a healthy active lifestyle amongst Qatar’s communities.” Mr. Al-Ajwan added, “Our strategic partnership with Ooredoo reflects the keenness of institutes across Qatar in building an active and sportive society by nurturing a passion for football in the country.” “The world-class football pitches are designed to meet international and European criteria and incorporate advanced solar technologies. I invite everyone to come down and cheer for their favourite team.” Mr. Nawaf added.
