Ooredoo announces new Ooredoo tv to revolutionise home entertainment

Ooredoo announced a revolutionary new set-top box, now available to all its Ooredoo tv customers.

The new Ooredoo tv – which provides all digital services through one set-top box - includes conventional linear TV, on-demand service, catch-up features, apps and games, and is intended to be the premier digital hub for customers in Qatar, meeting all their digital needs. Home entertainment services are provided by the UHD 4K set-top box, which has been specially designed with a Qatari aesthetic appearance to appeal to Qatari citizens and residents. The new Ooredoo tv is powered by Android TV™, widely considered to be one of the best entertainment platforms currently available. The new set-top box is real HDR 4K, offering unprecedented picture quality to viewers, and includes 16 GB of memory, enabling users to download a number of apps and games.

Some exciting features of the new Ooredoo tv include:

  • Arabic and English User Interface
  • Full UHD and Dolby
  • Watch hit shows, timeless movies and music videos on Google Play, StarzPlay, YouTube and Yupp TV
  • Ready access to more than 3,500 apps, with more being added constantly
  • Superior WiFi connectivity
  • Bluetooth-supported, with capability to connect to multiple Bluetooth devices including gaming pads and speakers
  • Capability to support multi-player online games, with some 35 online games available for a fixed monthly subscription of QR 50.

The new Ooredoo tv features a user interface with a brand new look, with a strong recommendation engine that works seamlessly between multiple content platforms and is able to intuitively offer recommendations based on the user’s viewing pattern. The new user interface also offers much faster channel switching, Kids Mode, channel profile creation, a catch-up feature of up to 48 hours, a locking mechanism to better provide parental control and much more.
