Visitors came out in droves over the last three-days to catch a glimpse of some of the country’s future projects expected to transform the skyline of Doha.

Cityscape Qatar, which runs until tomorrow (Wednesday 25th April) at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC), saw top local and international developers come out in full force over the last week to showcase their new flagship projects to the public for the first time. This year’s edition saw the signing of several agreements on notable projects, including the deal brokered between Qatar Rail and QNB, Ooredoo, and Qatar Insurance Group. The show also saw a strong presence from Turkish developers, who displayed a multitude of real estate opportunities, from residential to retail.

Visitors have until the 25th April to avail opportunities, network, gain valuable market insight, and take advantage of exclusive deals, special offers and payment plans on the show floor. Over the last few days, several VIP dignitaries visited Cityscape Qatar and toured the exhibition, speaking to some of the country’s top developers. On Monday, HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber bin Mohammed bin Thani Al Thani, former Prime Minister of Qatar, visited Cityscape Qatar and spent time with exhibitors, learning about new projects and developments which are boosting the property sector in the country.

Minister of Transport and Communications, HE Jassim bin Saif al Sulaiti also visited the show this week, commenting that this year’s Cityscape Qatar will support the national economy by promoting various development projects, and that the exhibition enhances the role of the private sector, opening a dialogue for new opportunities. “As the curtain falls on our 7th chapter of Cityscape Qatar tomorrow, we’re incredibly pleased with the way visitors, developers, government authorities and real estate stakeholders have responded to this year’s event,” said Faariss Khalil, Exhibition Manager for Cityscape Qatar. “The real estate sector remains a top priority for many –  and we’ve witnessed this positivity and optimistic investor sentiment on the show floor this year.”

Among the projects launched and showcased at this year’s Cityscape Qatar included:

Msheireb Properties - Downtown Doha & Wadi One

Downtown Doha, situated in the heart of the capital, is the world’s first smart sustainable downtown regeneration project. An approximately QAR 20 billion development, it revives the old commercial heart of the city through a new architectural language that is based on community living. Giving visitors updates on the project, the developer is also offering visitors to Cityscape Qatar new leasing opportunities. The developer also announced its first tower for leasing, Wadi One, which offers 1-4 bedroom apartments with views of West Bay, old Doha and Souq Waqif. The project will offer state-of-the-art home technology with a focus on green living.

UDC – Gewan Island

UDC launched Gewan Island at this year’s Cityscape Qatar, a project which spans across 400,000 sqm. Expected to be completed by 2021, Gewan Island will accommodate 3000 residents and 6000 visitors, and includes 611 units, including 558 apartments, 26 waterfront villas, 21 beachfront villas, 6 island villas, 20 000 sqm of retail and F&B space, a theme park, and a boardwalk.

Barwa Real Estate – Lusail

Located in the northern part of the city, Lusail aims to integrate the surrounding areas of the city through modern and vibrant residential areas. The innovative design of the project will combine both contemporary and traditional architectural features, while taking into account a balanced distribution of its buildings. The city will be home to villas, apartments, commercial buildings, retail shops as well as communal facilities, a hotel, schools, and a mosque.

AREDC / Vendome – Paramount Residences

Paramount Residences, located at the Pearl, comprises 196 luxurious residences distributed between one, two and three-bedroom units. The residences are artistically designed, from back painted glass and prosperous retro faucets to handcrafted and exquisitely finished wardrobe interiors. Properties are freehold and open to all for ownership.

Just UK Estates – Downtown Manchester

Located on the banks of the River Irwell and adjacent to the historic quarter of Castlefield, Downtown Manchester is a Manhattan-inspired development, comprising 368 one, two and three bedroom apartments. The final day of Cityscape Qatar Talks takes place on 25th April and runs parallel to the exhibition. The free-to-attend seminars on the show floor offers a wide choice of presentations, covering a range of themes and offers visitors the opportunity to network and make informed investment decisions.

The agenda for the final day covers:  Luxury Lifestyle Development in Turkey and Income Producing Investment Opportunities; REITs in Qatar – the Missing Link between Real Estate and Capital Markets; Market Overview and Trends; and Definition of the Terms of Reference of the Real Estate Brokerage Department delivered by Khalid Hassan Al Mehshadi of the Ministry of Justice.
