Qatar University (QU) and Ooredoo yesterday inaugurated the Student Entertaining Majlis designed to provide students with a dedicated entertainment area to connect and interact with QU members and to get insight into the latest innovations and technologies generated by Ooredoo.
Sponsored by Ooredoo, the Student Entertaining Majlis is part of a collaborative agreement signed between QU and Ooredoo in 2016.
The Majlis is open during QU’s working hours (7:30 am – 2:30 pm). It includes a dedicated Ooredoo TV zone, two interactive touch screens, a variety of video games, free access to the Ooredoo Supernet via Wi-Fi, an Ooredoo Self-Service Machine, and private booths in which students can contact their families and friends. QU Vice President for Student Affairs Dr Khalid Al-Khanji said: “As an educational institution, QU is committed to providing its students with essential tools to enrich and facilitate their academic experience. This initiative sponsored by Ooredoo reflects the strong partnership between QU and Ooredoo to serve the community. We hope that this partnership will generate more services and initiatives that are of the benefit of QU students.”
Ooredoo Qatar Chief Executive Officer Mr Waleed Al-Sayed said: “We believe in inspiring young people to live their dreams through our next generation technologies. The Student Entertaining Majlis is a place to reward students for their hard work and to offer them access to our world-class services. We look forward to seeing what QU’s future leaders do with the technology now available to them.” QU student Abdul Meneam Ali from QU College of Engineering and who is also member of QU Electronic Sports Club said: “We would like to thank QU and Ooredoo for providing us an optimal learning environment.
