Ooredoo has today announced the launch of its “Do Good This Winter” campaign, which will see the company donate winter clothes and essentials to those in need this cold season. The campaign, which is part of Ooredoo’s extensive 2017 CSR plan, will see the company distribute winter clothes for labourers who work outside.
As well as items such as winter coats, gloves and hats, the company will distribute healthy meals to the workers. Talking about the initiative, Fatima Sultan Al Kuwari (pictured), Community and Public Relations Director, Ooredoo Qatar, said: “This initiative makes a huge difference to the 1,000 workers who will be cold this winter period. We encourage everyone to get behind this good deed and help our diverse communities. It can be as simple as picking up a few warm items on your next shop and giving it to the people cleaning our streets and working outdoors, or donating a hot meal.”
Ooredoo will be donating the items on 4 January 2017 and will be promoting the initiative and locations through its social media pages under the #DoGoodQatar. According to online weather sources, Qatar’s winter season on average lasts until March with the coldest day reaching an average low of 14°C.
