Ooredoo, Qatar’s leading communications company, has today announced the launch of the new smart health solution – the HealthGuard-3000 Blood Circulation Analyser (PULSE)– which offers non-invasive screening as part of wellness and preventive care in the state of Qatar.
The solution has been designed in line with National Health Strategy, in close collaboration with Ooredoo’s HealthCare partner, Al Sulaiman Health. This is the first time in the GCC that the patented, near infrared technology has been used to measure blood circulation and body composition as a preventive measure. The service does not replace the need for licensed care-givers. PULSE’s primary goal is to help early detection of symptoms for cardiovascular problems, diabetes as well as other chronic diseases by determining and long term monitoring of the key health parameters like blood pressure, heart rate, BMI, body fat, hydration levels for body composition as well as many other parameters previously available only via invasive methods.
Studies show the GCC region is poised for an unprecedented surge in healthcare consumption, driven by robust population growth and rising income levels. Higher income levels and sedentary lifestyles have led to poor health conditions, a phenomenon that has been witnessed in most developed economies. Waleed Al Sayed, COO, Ooredoo Qatar, commented: “Ooredoo is investing heavily in a host of healthcare solutions for our employees and Qatar, to ensure our country stays healthy and that resources are not wasted. The PULSE kiosk will help people keep on-top of their wellbeing in an easy and effective manner, and will also ease the demand on Qatar’s medical institutions.”
Ooredoo recently unveiled a host of smart healthcare solutions which include employee health screening via the state-of-the-art PULSE kiosk, and tracking employee wellness activities via a mobile app and web portal. The company is also a Platinum Sponsor of the 2015 Employee Health & Wellbeing Conference, which is officially supported by the Supreme Council of Health, State of Qatar. The conference is taking place now until 13 October 2015 at the InterContinental Hotel Doha, Qatar, and will see leading health experts from global establishments presenting case studies and best practices of how successful occupational health strategies are in the long run.
